New Passport Requirements

 ATTENTION: New Passport Requirements

American Express/Azumano Travel strongly recommends that those traveling to the Caribbean, South & Central America, Mexico and Canada carry a U.S. Passport.

In light of proposed provisions to the Intelligence Reform Bill, new passport rules for all U.S. citizens and other travelers coming to and leaving the U.S. will be in place.

**Passport Alert**
Due to the tremendous increase in demand for new passports and passport renewals, people traveling by air to Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean and Bermuda who have applied for, but not yet received passports, can temporarily enter and depart from the United States by air as long as they present both a government-issued photo identification and Department of State official "proof of application."

This concession is valid through September 30, 2007. This change only affects air travel. Applicants can obtain their Proof of Application Status either online or by requesting their Proof of Application vie e-mail. HOWEVER, the U.S. Department of State warns that you may need to wait up to one week for expedited applications and up to four weeks for routine applications before a proof of application can be obtained and printed.
