Slow travel period with great cruise prices
by Howard Lewis on November 06, 2009
Right after the holidays into the 2nd, 3rd and 4th week of January, there is a lull in traveling. Many people have just done their holiday trips and are settling into the new year. Some of the best cruise deals can be found during this time. You can cruise out of Los Angeles for 7 nights along the Mexican Riviera visiting Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas for as little as 379.00 per person based on double occupancy. That's 54.00 per day for your cabin,...
The Landings, St Lucia
by Lori Rogers on November 05, 2009
A great place to stay if you need a condo type environment.  These units are fairly new and very well decorated. They are on the ocean or on the marina and have everything you need - fully stocked kitchen and washer anddryer.  At the time we were there, they only had one restaurant open but one more is on the way to open soon. The beach here is fantastic - lots of comfortable chairs with umbrellas and they also have floats to be on in thewater.  They have 3-4 small pools that also...

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it.  We were put in a 2 story Water's Edge oceanfront room with a butler.I always wondered what you would do with a butler but I found that we had several requests.   Not only does hemeet you at check in and take you up to the butlers lounge but he is at your disposal from 7:30am to 10:00 pmeveryday.  The room had a fully stocked bar and we had access to 24 hour room service.  The restaurants werequite good and most of them you...

by Lori Rogers on November 05, 2009
I just returned from St. Lucia and stayed here for a couple of nights,  please don't put any clients here.  We left a night early because it was so bad.  We arrived at 2:45 pm and they made us wait until 4:00 to check in, even tho check in was at 3 pm.Our room was like being in a dungeon,  you had to walk up the steps to get to the pool,  the pool furniture was old teak woodlounge chairs with no pads and there were 2 umbrellas total for the entire pool and those...

by Francine Marie on November 05, 2009
Looking for the perfect hotel for your stay in Venice? I think I have found it.  The Hotel Antiche Figure. You know the saying, location, location, location. Well it's got it. Ideally located for everything -- train, motor coach service to and from the airport, vaporetto, water taxi, and near to the cruise terminal. Plus the hotel is located right on the Grand Canal. This fine hotel is known for its great location and helpful staff as well. Hotel Antiche Figure is rated # 4 on...

Memorable Mediterranean Cruises
by Francine Marie on November 05, 2009
We cruised on Princess Cruises' newest ship, the Ruby Princess, for our Honeymoon on their Grand Mediterranean itinerary. It truly was Grand! I searched numerous cruise lines to find the perfect Mediterranean cruise. For a broad overview of this region, this voyage absolutely cannot  be beat. This 12-day itinerary offers the splendor of such magnificent cities as Rome, Istanbul, Athens, and magical Venice, where an overnight stay is the highlight. We visited the Greek island of...
Cooking in France
by Alison Smith on November 04, 2009
I just finished reading Julia Child's autobiography,  "My Life in France" and got to thinking about how much fun it would be to take a cooking class in France.  Avanti Destinations offers a 3 night package staying at a chateau in Provence.  You have a morning cooking lesson focusing on the regional cuisine and then get to enjoy  the gourmet dishes for lunch.  They also include a wine tasting tour.   Avanti Destinations also offers similar...
A Walk Across Spain
by Alison Smith on November 04, 2009
My 58 year old brother has set out on a spiritual quest.  He is hiking the entire 'Camino de Compostela de Santiago' which runs from southern France (close to the border with Spain) through the Pyrenees Mountains and across northern Spain to Santiago (almost to the Atlantic Ocean).  It's a 500 mile journey and over 100,000 people hike it (or part of it) every year. Pilgrims have walked (or even crawled) to the church of Compostela de Santiago since the 8th century.  My...
